I’m so glad the folks at Wimbledon decided to live in the now.
The All England Club bowed to pressure and announced that it would offer equal prize money to women and men at the grasscourt grand slam for the first time at this year's championships.

Wow... I didn't know about the pay discrepency.
I don't know what I find more disturbing... that it took them this long to correct it, or that the athletes who participated refused to take a firm stand against it. I think I'm as disappointed in the athletes as I am with Wimbledon.
Makes you wonder how many would still pay if the rules were something like, "if you're black, you only get 2/3 of the money". Of course, it'd probably higher profile if it was discrimination based on race.
